Btu Collective Bargaining Agreement

BTU and BPS have reached an agreement to address the impact on terms and conditions of employment related to the city`s decision to reopen Boston Public Schools (District or BPS) for the 2020-2021 school year during the current COVID-19 pandemic. BOSTON, MA — The Boston Teachers Union (BTU) voted tonight to ratify a new three-year treaty for educators. Each of the BTU`s four bargaining units – teachers, paraprofessionals, assistants and behavioural analysts – voted in favour of ratification. BTU approves agreement providing for a full-time nurse in each school, student mental health staff and increased support for the inclusion of special schools The Maryland State Department of Education regulations provide that all City Schools employees must be assigned to bargaining units unless they hold positions classified as confidential or leaders. A position is confidential when its responsibilities involve access to specific information about the collective bargaining process of municipal schools. A position is a management when its main tasks involve decision-making at the system level. No negotiated agreement applies to unrelated personnel. BTU and BPS have reached an agreement on distance learning expectations by the end of the school closure period. The Office of Labor Relations negotiates and manages Boston Public School`s collective agreements with unions representing Boston Public School employees. Boston Public Schools have approximately 14 bargaining units employing more than 10,000 people. The BTU represents teachers who are certified professionals and who focus primarily on the provision of teaching, direct teaching support or related services. Up to 3 years of “Outside Service” credit is granted with a valid outside service letter from your previous district. The letter must appear on the official header of your previous school district and indicate that master`s degrees are considered credits of 30 graduates and that all graduation level level credits mentioned above are taken into account for the next grade (Masters +15, etc.).
